@Bodo @kieliscalling

@johansolo Yo utilizo #nomacs y va genial, a ver si te sirve.

@allanon Thank you! I will give it a shot tho I'm not the biggest fan of relying on #Wine.

#Nomacs has been my #Irfanview alternative of choice, but it hasn't been maintained much in a while.

@lorry @JamisonAlexander Although not a perfect substitute for #Irfanview, I have found #Nomacs is a nice lightweight image viewer that can do simple edits when you just need a quick crop or resize.

(But be warned it can do metadata updates without explicit save commands, which change modified dates.)

@Maker_of_Things @sinituulia If none of the pack-in apps work, you can also easily install #VLC from the #LinuxMint package manager GUI.

For the curious it has been reset to my default image viewer that has the extraordinary feature of starting and being interactive even when opening a directory with more that say 25 image files. #NoMacs

@tulsa If you want something fast and simple like , you might want to take a look at
I have used Irfan via before, but Nomacs has all the features i need for *quick* editing.

@reznik Schau dir doch mal #darktable an oder #nomacs an

@calvato Such trotzdem mal nach #Nomacs.
@Frau_Sofa

@risa_spirelli - #nomacs is a nice simple image viewer and editor that is good for use cases like this. Development apparently stopped a couple of years ago, but it's still in repositories.

I decided to go with Shotwell for the time being instead of installing Nomacs as a Flatpak. Seems to do what I need (although I prefer Nomacs). I could not figure out how to change the size of the images though. Looked it up. You can only change size when saving? Weird. It works in the end...

I use(d) Nomacs as my image viewer. It suddenly wouldn't open photos anymore. Tried reinstalling from AUR and it won't install. Apparently I'm not the only one with the issue. The search for a replacement begins...

I use Nomacs as my photo viewer on all of my Linux computers. I like it because it is easy to manage and make light edits to photos. I resize photos (usually such that the largest dimension is 800 px) for publication in The New Leaf Journal. Nomacs provides a side-by-side screen of the original and new photo in the save dialogue. Something about this one...

(Note: I only had an 800 px version of this, so I used Upscayl to make it bigger for Pixelfed, which may make the text look a little off.)

A Nomacs photo viewer save dialogue showing an old version of a photo next to a new version. The photo is of a multi-colored inflatable Easter egg creature. Nomacs only shows part of the image, so both images only display the creature's very large eyes.

@jimmyd2 I noticed that the last release date for #nomacs 3.16 was July 17, 2020 but I wanted to make a mention because this image viewer has some advance features.

I read Pokémon: Pathways to Adventure, which doubles as a novelization of Pokémon Red and Blue and a quasi-strategy guide, back in 1999. I felt nostalgic, so I ordered a copy a couple of years ago (mine had long since disappeared). Now that I have a website - I thought that I ought to review it. For a review, I needed a photo. Ergo...
