The nave of the Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin, otherwise known as Tewkesbury Abbey in Gloucester, regarded as one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Britain (I'm assuming they have Durham Cathedral, in my own home neck of the woods, on that list too!).
From a photographers point of view, it is an absolute visual gem to capture, both inside and out.
I found the visitor guides extremely welcoming and friendly, positively encouraging the taking of photographs – it is also dog-friendly too!
The 'Chronicle of Tewkesbury' records that the first Christian worship was brought to the area by a missionary from Northumbria called Theoc.
He built a cell in the mid-7th century near where the Severn and Avon rivers join.

Chiesa della Santissima Trinità, gegenüber der Zisa gelegen, stammt aus der Zeit der normannischen Herrscher. Das Bauwerk verbindet aragonesische und arabische Formen, sichtbar in den gestuften Bögen und dem Wechsel heller und dunkler Steine. Trotz späterer Umbauten bewahrt die Kirche ihre ruhige Würde.

Der Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo gilt als ältester königlicher Palast Europas; er wurde im 11. Jhd auf arabischen Fundamenten errichtet. Der Innenhof, umgeben von mehrstöckigen Säulengängen, verbindet normannische, byzantinische und islamische Architektureinflüsse zu einem harmonischen Raum. Diese Arkaden dienten einst als promenadeartiger Übergang zwischen Hof und Gemächern, beleuchtet von natürlichem Licht, das die Bögen betont.
