The mighty Storforsen along the Pite river in northern Sweden. At peak flow, these rapids could fill an Olympic pool every three seconds, which is great if you happen to be in the area with an empty Olympic pool and in a hurry.

The ICEHOTEL 365 in Northern Sweden, known as the world's first permanent ice hotel, offers accommodation made of snow and ice and remains open year-round. Previously, the ICEHOTEL was rebuilt each winter, but the new solar-powered cooling technology allows part of the hotel, including a bar, art gallery, and 10 luxury suites, to host guests in all seasons. Located 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle in Jukkasjärvi, the ICEHOTEL has been constructed each year using 5,000 tons of ice from the nearby River Torne, and sections of the hotel will continue to be rebuilt and feature new icy artworks annually.
