I installed #ntopng on my #pihole box (b/c shared db) and, in about an hour, things completely blew-up
I also changed who hands out DHCP addresses from the router to the pihole, so that may have added some additional load
Didn't take long for my nameservices to come to a grinding halt; ntopng had became a runaway and exhausted CPU and RAM resources as load went through the roof - I had to stop & disable ntopng and allow the system to cool
I checked my hardware on various #pi ❤️ boards I have in dedicated services and was stunned to see that pi-hole had been happily chugging along, all this time, on a pi2b1

Had a big spike in my home's internet usage this month and comcast is threatening to charge me extra.
I dont know if the data cap resets on the month or on our billing period, but I want to identify which devices are downloading the most. My linksys router does not have this data available.
Has anyone used #ntopng or #pihole specifically for this?
I have a raspberry pi 2 or 3 I could commit to being a dns server but want to make sure I'm using the correct tool.

Any #ntopng users on #Fosstodon? I'm trying to find a good whole networking monitoring tool, mostly to monitor outbound connections from within my network - rogue APIs, websites, etc. Maybe ntopng isn't the right answer... open to suggestions!
#Ntopng is till now the best #network #monitoring tool that I could find. The interface is awesome and it detects most of my traffic.
One small issue that i am stuck is that I wish it had agents that I could install on non detected devices to track them better.

Nesse fim de semana eu finalmente troquei o #pfsense pelo #opnsense aqui em casa e aproveitei para instalar o #ntopng também. Toda a instalação e configuração foi tranquila, mas o ntop causou um leve aumento do iowait no servidor e, por consequência, a temperatura da CPU também aumentou
I love #ntopng. I finally installed the ntopng service in my Proxmox host to tattle on what all the containers/VMs were up to. #Grafana showed heavy network usage, so I switched over to ntopng and I can see one container and one VM are having an NFS party. Also that my driveway camera is a bandwidth hog sending videos to motion to be processed. Cool.

Not only did #ntopng make a comeback, allowing to see traffic flow better but FINALLY they updated #libressl to 2.7, allowing #haproxy to make use of the "curves" argument.

With that all my ssl is finally using #curve25519, praise to djb.
