I've been drinking my well water for 8 years.
Would I have noticed if it had been poisoned by oleander roots?
My well is surrounded by native reeds and oleander. The lady who has been using the water for her horses for about 3 years, suddenly realised yesterday that the roots that regularly invade the well might be oleander and thus toxic for her horses. (Funnily enough she was not concerned about the water possible being bad for us.)
Many wells have oleander growing near them and the locals don't seems to worry about it particularly but now of course I'm wondering too.
Any ideas?

The last few weeks I have been listening to Oleanders discography.
Mostly known for their #Nirvana sounding hit, Why I'm here, they were a melting pot of creativity. They were so good & just a SOLID all around grunge/rock band.
With Thomas Flowers versatile vocals and creative guitars by Ric Ivanisevich and Rich Mouser they were really something.
Here is Shrinking the Blob, one of my favorite songs off their first album.
Asking for a relative:
They have a large #oleander bush in a pot. Last year's solution for overwintering it (by bringing it to a greenhouse) won't work this year. They live in Southern Germany in a region with rather mild winters.
What's their best option? All other things equal, would it be better to keep the plant in the pot or to put it into the ground? Either way, the plant would be covered with sheets to keep it warm.
Feel free to reply in German or Dutch as well. Thanks! 🙏
