A moment of teaching insanity today - which I did contribute to, fair enough. A Yr11 guessed exactly the poem and question on their Lit Paper 1 - so I bought them a bag of onions as a prize ("I give you an onion" Valentine, Carol Ann Duffy). Another student then proceeded to eat a raw onion, just because. It was a spicy one. Tears and retching ensued. En fait, Mr Patate il cultive aussi des oignons, qui l'occupent une bonne partie de son temps ! Et depuis 3 ans j'essaie de planter des variétés moins sensibles au froid dès novembre, pour gagner un peu de temps au printemps, dans un contexte de printemps sec et chaud ça paraissait être une bonne idée ! L'an dernier c'était la cata... Mais cette année ça a une belle allure !
