@Wifiwits I don’t think it was ever cheaper… at least not at scale. It has the questionable benefit of outsourcing the responsibility for maintaining servers and their lifecycles, for a price. The “infrastructure as code” angle has some attraction for those large organizations in the top 1% too… and this is where it’s more cost-effective. For everyone else who has convinced themselves that their 250-user mid-market business should run like Google? Reality is starting to make itself apparent. Программные решения, адаптированные к такому способу поставки, имеют ряд особенностей архитектурного характера, которые влияют на тиражируемость в целом, и должны учитываться на этапе первичного проектирования: топология развёртывания, сайзинг, модульность, интеграции и возможности кастомизации, а также ограничения, накладываемые на прикладное ПО . В статье рассматриваются некоторые категории архитектурно‑значимых нефункциональных требований, ценность которых неочевидна для конечного функционального заказчика, но неоспорима для удовлетворения бюрократического формализма в лице внутренних ЛНА заказчика (IT, ИБ), варьируемых в широких пределах от заказчика к заказчику, и даются рекомендации по управлению ими с помощью гибких архитектурных принципов.

@ltning 😂. I have yet to encounter a software developer that really likes working with Kubernetes. Occasionally a DevOps person will get excited about it. Until the reality of managing a complex 12-factor application(s) with microservices entirely using yaml sets in. Then that enthusiasm dithers. If that doesn't do it, the cloud bill for a bunch of over-worked t3.2xlarge instances will. #onpremises, please. And #jails / VMs.
