Uff, #OnTheBeach ist ziemlich harter Stoff für einen Film von 1959 und mit dieser Starbesetzung. Von "diese Aussies sind aber noch erstaunlich lebensfroh" bzw. "der Skipper scheint gar nicht zu realisieren, dass alle tot sind" und "ach wie nett, dass wg. des fehlenden Benzins jetzt alle Fahrrad und Kutsche fahren" zu verlassenen Großstädten, Suizidpillen und ganz vielen schweren Abschieden ohne Happy End in gut zwei Stunden. Keine leichte Unterhaltung, auch wenn Gardner sich alle Mühe gibt. 1/2
