@raroun hello there! this is Droppie from her new, replacement, account for the broken, now deleted, MsDropbear42@friendica.opensocial.space. this replacement account is behaving perfectly, afaict, including excellent responsiveness [so many of the older Friendica accounts i have had, elsewhere, suffered from agonisingly poor latency, with almost every interaction; yours is nicely fast]. the only major difference in origin is that this time i created a standard clean account then manually set up all my settings & contacts... whereas with the prior account, as you recall, i had used that experimental profile-import tool, via the link at the bottom of the registration page. i know that does not prove this was the root cause of all the subsequent problems, but afaict it seems a pretty strong bit of circumstantial evidence. IMO, it might be better to remove that option, until someone is able to properly validate the tool is not defective.

once again, thank you for your help, & for running a lovely instance!

shall be populating this reprise of friendica.opensocial.space much slower than usual, initially just adding my followed hashtags, then testing testing testing, then if still ok, just adding my followed bot accounts [as they prolly won't get pissed orf with me], then testing testing testing. only later then, will i begin adding my actual human-peep follows, then running away & hiding under the bed.

sorry for all this recent confusion. unfortunately it's still not quite settled yet. the only thing that finally does seem "certain" is that my recently-created @msdropbear42 account is gonna get nuked today, coz something went badly wrong during its creation [i chose to use an experimental profile-import tool on the rego page, rather than just creating a virgin account, & it seems to have corrupted the data it had imported, leaving my account with broken Contacts... all attempts to fix it have failed].

that will leave me with two Friendica accounts; this one, my oldest surviving one [there were many before it], & the new baby, @msdropbear42 (on @MelissaBearTrix private instance). there would be many advantages of keeping Mel's one, but sadly there's two flaws, one of which is unbearable [my posts take between 2 to 20 minutes to actually send!].

arithmetically then, it would ostensibly appear that this, my old one, would be "the winner", but... my soon-to-be-nuked friendica.opensocial.space one has some nice performance advantages over this one [whose random unreliability was the very reason that i went a-huntin' for other instances, a coupla weeks ago]. hence, though this might piss peeps orf even more, i'm leaning to creating a new account on friendica.opensocial.space once i've nuked the broken one [& ofc not using that experimental tool this time].

tl;dr = i have almost perfected my art of rigidly defined areas of doubt & uncertainty! 🐳🌻

ps: i know ofc that all the above is far faaaaaaar TMI for your simple question, but tbh i wrote it out more to help clarify my own thought process & decision making for this puzzle... alas, you were collateral damage 😜

@msdropbear42 this is from my older #Friendica, anonsys.net, to touch bases with it again after these last feels-like-aeons-of-palaver with the newer kids on the block, friendica.opensocial.space and farcebook.space, both of which i only brought into existence specifically coz anonsys.net went thru a prolonged rough patch of unavailability but also high latency of its #Circles, which took loooooong times to load but more often failed thereafter with a 504. lately though, the Dev seems finally to have solved it, so maybe my least worst option now, instead of all the ongoing struggles with friendica.opensocial.space [broken/corrupted Contacts] and farcebook.space [terrible delays for sending all my posts, typically 2' - 18', yes, minutes!], might be... delete both latter accounts, & slink back to anonsys.net with my tail twixt my legs, & much embarrassment at all the wasted time, not to mention how much i've prolly irritated + confused my Follows & Followers... 🤔🤷‍♀️

so, how long will this post take to send? 🤨
