Great news: #Medicaid covered my #orchi . Just got the bill in the mail that shows that insurance covered it all and that it went through.

Good...I don't regret that one bit. But I do have lingering bottom #dysphoria from the dysphoria noodle.

Which is why I hunkered down and hyperfocused on looking at #vaginoplasty surgeons in the Midwest and narrowed it down to those that take Medicaid. And ascertained (to the best of my ability) their wait time and the reception post-op patients of theirs have had. And I've done the same for #BreastAugmentation surgeons and #FFS surgeons.

Thursday (my next day off besides the weekend) will have me making a call to set up a consultation for a vaginoplasty and for a BA. The hope is that I can get both done over the course of 2026 (with the BA earlier in the year and the vaginoplasty in the late months). Given the longer recovery times for FFS and that I DON'T want the recovery times to overlap, I'll go for that last.

Okay, so I did a dumb. And it's going to need some #TransMutualAid

I assumed my job (Goodwill) would be paying me throughout my recovery period. But they didn't except for the week of the surgery itself. All because I'm part-time and not full-time.

Which means I foolishly blew through the money (not nearly enough) DoorDashing food cravings and (thanks to withdrawing a $100 check to pay some tax stuff to the IRS) I am broke until the next paycheck comes Friday.

I also have the possibility of Medicaid not covering the #orchi surgery I had. And wanting to also slowly save up for vaginioplasty.

Deleting all food apps off phone and setting up some short-term mutual aid sources when I get home before doing a long-term #GoFundMe .

Timelapse time for my #TransitionTimeline

* 1st photo = the moment that I first put on my younger sister's prom dress (after asking her) on a whim, felt a shiver down my spine, looked in the mirror, and realized that that probably meant something. AKA, the moment the #eggcrack happened on 7/11/2023....note that this was just under a month before starting #HRT.
* 2nd = one year later (7/11/2024)...by this point, I've fully-accepted that I am a #transwoman and had been on HRT for 11 months.
* 3rd photo onward = Today, 2 years post-egg crack and nearly 2 years of HRT (7/11/2025)...this entire past year was on injections and I am close to three weeks post- #orchi .

Notice how they're in different rooms (bathroom, bedroom, outside pool area) and the lighting gets progressively shittier. But I've also noticed that the comfier I am with being #trans , the cxntier I am. Maybe one of these days, I'll be super-cxnty with good lighting on a consistent basis.

Safe to say that this dress has sentimental value to me and I'll keep up the tradition for as long as I can fit in the dress.

On a lighter note, the healing process of the #orchi is going smoothly.

Okay, woke up and feel quite a bit less sore around the incision site today than I did yesterday. Sleep, icepacks, and the occasional piankiller are working nicely.

The only things that kept me up a bit late at night? My #dogs begging for water refills right as I'm about to nod off, me switching out between one of my 3 icepacks as one of them stops being cold, and me getting up to have to go pee.

But on the flipside, I was at check-in for the #orchi when the lady behind the counter told me that the #Medicaid (via Healthy Indiana Plan) covering the surgery was still 'pending' and it is possible that they could deny coverage for the surgery.

If it is indeed denied, it is officially time for a GFM to pay off the medical debt.

At 8:30 AM on 6/24/2025, I had my #orchi . Yes, I told my anasthesiologist "Do it, no balls!" before they activated the IV.

With this heatwave, I likened the trek to the final stretch to destroy the One Ring (or in this case, my Two Balls) in #LordOfTheRings . In this case, I'd be Frodo, my sister who drove me would be Samwise, my brother and my brother-in-law would complete the Hobbits of the Fellowship, and my IRL trans friends would be the rest of the Fellowship.

But taking it easy with icepacks, comfort food, and responsible usage of painkillers.

Looking at the #Skrmetti decision on #BlueSky . I'll be talking with my supportive family about it. And about us moving to Illinois if possible.

Given the passport decision yesterday, that's one thing I aim to get while I'm in post- #orchi recovery.

One week until #orchi . And bottom #dysphoria is re-emerging like a regrown Hydra head. It feels like it's back with a vengeance (for now)...and I HATE it.

Fortunately, I also feel as though it'll be a gigantic relief once I wake up from the IV and see that the awkward bulge-causers are no longer there.

I'm at the point where I feel as though I should get the ball rolling [no pun intended] on #vaginoplasty while I still can.

I'm also glad I banked sperm before starting #HRT. I am less on-the-fence on at least one bio-kid (provided I'm with a long-term stable partner who feels the same), so I'm glad I didn't slam the door shut. I'd probably prefer carrying a child myself, but I've begrudgingly accepted that isn't in the cards for any #transwoman alive today. So I made do with what I could.

But I'll be out of work for 3 weeks following surgery. And I've offered any #trans friends locally to visit me at my house to check up on me while I'm recovering.

Heading to two local #pride events this week. And will meet up with #queer friends there.

If I get an #ICE raid happening in my city (not likely as its a small town, but you never know), I know a local group that'd do their damnedest to hold them back. Only thing stopping me is if they invade my town while I'm recovering from my orchi. Can't do much help while I'm healing myself, right?

NEW CRISIS HERE!

I seriously thought i would have enough time to get an #orchi in before Medicaid got gutted for #trans folks. If this bullshit bill passes the Senate, it will be prohibitively-expensive without #TransMutualAid .

Oh, I have more news. I have a consultation for an orchi on May 28th at a Urology clinic that is about 30 minutes away.

My logic is A) an #orchi is much harder to fuck up than a #vaginoplasty and B) the waitlist for an orchi will be so much shorter, so I could feasibly get one in before Medicaid is gutted so as #trans healthcare is no longer covered by it. If I had the time on my hands, I'd go for a full-depth bottom with a doc who knows what they're doing, but I don't trust that there will be the time for that under this #fascist hellhole.

As such, I'll settle for an #orchi and go for a vaginoplasty at a later time. Either when I'm in a blue state or in a completely different country. I'm slowly learning I'm more of a #top -leaning #switch than I initially thought....and I guess THAT equipment is nifty for that purpose.

Okay, so I switched to a new primary care provider yesterday. He'll also be prescribing me my #HRT . I've heard nothing but amazing things from him from my local #transfemme pals. and the first meeting yesterday was promising. He'll also be conducting a blood draw tomorrow before I go to work.

Me and my family are also talking about moving to a blue state. But not until my sister graduates from Uni with a VERY good degree in May. I have two refuge places recommended by friends (Utica, NY and Carbondale, IL) that'll be worth looking into.

If it weren't for that accelerated timeframe, this doc straight-up told me he would've put me on the fast-track to get an #orchi . But that'll have to wait until I'm resituated.
