I've been a mac user since 1988 - I tried to use #linux for #music starting around 2016, and used it as my main system for ~ 1 yr around 2020 but ended up giving up and going back to mac.

The final straw was an issue with inconsistent #latency in #jack or possibly #ffado that totally destroyed my trust in the synchronicity of #overdubs.

I'm hoping to try again and that #pipewire might improve things. Would love to talk to anyone who does overdubs and has #loopback latency tested their system.

Doing more tracking today. Vocal overdubs, some acoustic guitars, maybe some slide guitar.

I did a spaced pair of nice ribbons on the acoustic (3 to 1 rule) but I didn't get a pic.

I'm on a lunch break, but I'll post pics that I did take, later.
