@Quasit In Pachli, there is the "load newest posts" menu item in the three dots menu that does this. You can also change the settings to make the home tab icon do this. (Not sure about the exact English wording of the menu item.)

There's a feature that either Mastodon or Mastodon apps really need to add. Or at least, if there's an app that has this feature I want to know about it so I can switch to it. So far I have only tried Tusky and Pachli.

Anyway, the problem happens when I refresh my feed - particularly the federated feed, which tends to be much much larger of course. If I hit refresh, my screen view stays on the spot that I was at; all newer posts appear above the one I'm looking at. But the feed is so large that I have to take quite a while to scroll up to the top. And that's with frantic high speed scrolling!

There should be a button or something that you can hit to just scroll straight to the top of any feed instantly. It gets annoying having to scroll and scroll and scroll!

@waeiski I switched from Tusky to Pachli. So far it's been good. A few weird bugs (alt text editing on Android is problematic) but otherwise it's been fine. #pachli #tusky

@bsm #Pachli es excelente también

Can you be more specific? It certainly should work with GtS.

2025-12-28

@waeiski I find Pachli best. Admittedly I haven't tested anything else for a while as I see no need.

Are there other apps I could use to read my feed in chronological order, top to bottom? Not reverse chronological, that is?

@shauna I've recently switched to #Pachli which has them (it's a tusky fork)

Nice to have:
- Button für Lesezeichen direkt unter dem Post
- Button zum Übersetzen des Posts
- minimalistisches Design

Wow I accidentally found a mastodon client that can render quotes correctly...

It's Pachli

@pachli

Other major popular ones haven't been updated to support this. But Pachli seems to be updated pretty frequently lately.

@drimplausible I agree 100%. Many apps, like , collapse long posts and you expand to view the full text. I think that works pretty well. Unfortunately my preferred app, Mastodon Android app, doesn't collapse/expand long posts, so I agree it's ruining your feed.

2025-12-20

uhhh sorry for kinda stupid question but is there any option of Pachli making it load the newest post on start (Home, Local, Federated) instead of stopping at the last read post, I can't that option anywhere

@bradwilson I too use the Mastodon app simply because I find it more "snappy" (ex notifications tab in the app) and in particular easier for using lists...

I sometimes use Pachli, which is a fork of Tusky, but it loads the oldest stuff first, at least for me, and it takes endless scrolling to get to new posts.
