I didn't like any of the mist at all so I #painted it again. Pretty happy with this outcome so this will probably be what the #mist looks like when the painting is done.

for a .

As I described in previous post, I was aiming for a that allowed the to be laid down flat without bending it's back.

My solution is to tuck these sort of "ears" (that are inevitable while using the zipper for these covers) on the back when covers are closed. When you open the zipper, you'll also let these "ears" loose and they will not affect the position of the book in any way.

is in

This photo shows how the ends of the zipper (nicely embbedded into leather straps) are tucked away on the back side of the bookcovers. This photo shows how these covers look while they are unzipped. These covers are made exactly by this very same book, the fit is absolutely perfect and the book may be laid down flat. The zipper ends will be just loosely on top and bottom, they're not under the book spine and will not bend it anyhow. Photo shows the leather covers from front. There is a hand carved cross on the front cover. Cross is painted in gold and it looks very beautiful on these mahogany color leather covers.

This Sunday involved a wonderful tour around the workrooms of Noble Signs, which doubles as a museum. The founders started collecting the old signs they were replacing signs, then shifted to reclaiming and storing. They are now building the museum as a charity. They gave a tour today which was wonderful. They specislise in NY vernacular signs. A few photographs for you. I took many, i'll write several posts each with slightly different angles

#Painted this whale at The Clay Cottage 2 months ago. #clay #glazing #whale #ceramic

A small, glossy blue ceramic whale figurine is placed on a table. It has a rounded body and a distinct tail. The background includes blurred green chairs. Watermarks of "Neurodivergent BC" and a colourful infinity symbol are over it.These photos show a hand-painted ceramic or clay whale figurine, possibly in the process of being painted. The whale is painted in a light pastel blue shade with some visible brush strokes and has small, round, dark eyes. The setting looks like a crafting or art space, with a polka-dotted tablecloth and other painted objects in the background.A light blue, unfinished ceramic whale figurine sits on a polka-dotted tablecloth. In the background, a person holds a green figure, and the setting features a green wall.

A Brief Intermission: Tagging Trains in Aveiro

I took a quick trip to Aveiro today to pick up some negatives. Since, for a change, I actually had some time before my train departed I took the opportunity to check out the old trains on the Vouga line, the railway line between Aveiro and Agueda.

Some people love tagged trains, and others, including the railway companies, hate it. Personally, I’m well into the former camp. The origin of railway graffiti began with the New York subway artists during the 1970s. Today, tagging trains remains a popular form of expression and railway carriages and freight wagons that carry graffiti are seen by some as rolling museums, carrying works of art across the country.

The carriages of the Agueda regional trains have been a target of taggers for decades, and I always try to get a glimpse of them as I pass through. As I had a few minutes to spare today, I couldn’t resist snapping a few smartphone photos.

The trains are looking a little worse for wear nowadays, and the taggers have laid so much paint over the windows it’s almost impossible for the passengers to see out, but I can’t deny that the graffiti makes these trains look even more colourful.

I noticed that over the years the paint had become worn and was being removed in streaks, leaving streaks of different layers of old paint. So this time, I took a closer look at the individual pieces to produce what I hope are some interesting abstracts.
