I worked on some more scatter terrain for #LastDays #Zombie Apocalypse. Mostly this bus stop which I have decorated with a bunch of graffiti and posters/flyers

I printed out a big sheet of signs and posters and such which I've been itching to start using. I also got some Sharpie creative markers to use for #graffiti. I think both worked out pretty well here.

9th Ghost Regiment, Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery

the Ghost Regiments are (allegedly) composed of (allegedly) former (allegedy) criminals, and as such, they lack any regimental insignia, instead adopting 'tattoo' patterns for their mechs.

I remain deeply unsure if these are worth listing for sale, especially with my extremely mediocre freehand for the Draconis Combine insignia.

An Atlas battlemech, on hex base, facing fully toward the user. The base sides are painted flat black, with yellow hazard stripes on the front facing side, indicating that the user is in extreme danger. The base top is painted as grass, covered with pink cherry and plum blossoms in spring, with a dirt path winding through between the mech's legs. Its paint scheme overall is white as a base color, with deep warm magenta shadows, with the limbs and torsos depicted with tree branches twining across them, studded intermittently with poorly painted cherry and plum blossoms. You will never know which, because the two are indistinguishable at this scale. The Atlas's distinct skull-like face has been painted with great pointy black eyebrows, and red lining the eyes and chin, making it look like a very tiny kabuki theater villain.

Four mechs seen previously, in their warm white colors with floral cherry and plum blossom decorations. Now, the cockpits have had their windows jeweled, and the Atlas's skull is painted in kabuki villain makeup, and the ground on which the mechs are standing has been painted shades of sap green with a dirt trail winding through it. Basing material will be added later to give it some volume.

My freehand isn't very good, even with the stipple technique, but hopefully it's enough for tabletop.

Four mechs previously posted. This time, the red circle with black outline has had a black asian dragon stippled into the red. Up close, it looks mediocre to bad, but probably reads reasonably well from arm's length or on the tabletop, enough to be identified as the dragon of the Draconis Combine. In addition, the skull-like head of the Atlas has been painted in red and black to resemble the makeup of a kabuki theater villain, with spikes of red flowing up from the top and bottom edges of the eyes toward the outside, a blackened mouth, and red horns down on the chin, and bold black eyebrows above the eyes.

I applied the pigment fixer on my Pink Horrors.
The project is now completed, time to clean up the desk, and the very smelly moldy wet palette.
I still have a few models primed, but I don't think they are going to see paint this year...
I painted 60 models this year. Considering I didn't have access to them for almost 3 months, I think it's ok.

Four mechs, from left to right a Crusader, a Marauder 2, an Atlas, and an Orion, for Battletech.

All have been posted before, with their base coat of white with magenta shadows and freehand tree branches full of plum and cherry blossoms. Now the front hext face has been painted bright yellow (cadmium yellow primrose) with black hazard striping, and the rear hex face has been painted a bright warm red (Napthol Red Light). Each mech has, somewhere on its left shoulder area, a black circle filled with that same bright warm red, in preparation for painting the s-shaped asian dragon of the Draconis Combine.

I'm really enjoying Just Finishing Some Models, chucking some speedpaints on these chibi styled models from Arcadia Quest Inferno.

This time a pair of Hellcats, painted up in an evening after a zenithal base coat. These were part of the Whole lot of Lava expansion along with Ignos.

There's something to be said from rna relatively simple, large sculpt that you can quickly get done.

My test game of #LastDays was fun! My gang of patrol officers looted an abandoned truck. It was surrounded by six #zombies. As we split up and to dispatched the zombies, our shots attracted more attention. Our leader, “Large Marge,” suffered minor injuries, but we managed to fend off the #undead and collect the supplies.

I forgot to use the courage/horror rules, but otherwise I think I did pretty well. I got a feeling for the gameplay, and I'm watching a YouTube video of a battle report to try to spot any other rules I may have missed.

Ok, new photos after going for the Grim Black over the top of the Gravelord Grey, and applying an Anti-Shine Varnish.

The is Ignos from the "Whole Lotta Lava" expansion to Arcadia Quest Inferno from 2015. He's a minor villain, with molten rock skin that is nigh-impregnable, and his lava attacks wreak havoc all around him!

Ignos is the progeny of an Earth and a Fire Elemental, so looks like he's made of Basalt with glowing lava visible in some of the cracks.

I continued painting the bases of my Pink Horrors.
Multiple layers of dry brush. Pinks and blue.
Applying thickly the texture paint was a good choice, but there are some places still missing definition.
Next steps will be pigments and grass.
