So I rocked a Zire 72 then a T|X back in the day. The T|X was the first device I owned personally with Wi-Fi. I remember walking around the streets in my neighborhood looking for open networks.

Suddenly got really nostalgic for the Palm PDA I had back in college. Get off my lawn for a moment, but it did everything I needed it to, while being significantly faster and more responsive than any new-fangled "smart" device I've ever had to put up with.

Found a Palm Pilot IIIxe on Goodwill for $7.99 currently. Ends in about a day and a half. Released in early 2000, this was one of the last in the Palm III series, with 8MB RAM and a 160x160 screen. Back in the day you weren’t a true geek if you weren’t rocking one of these on a belt holster (probably next to your pager 🙂).

In retrospect, I also now realize why I liked (still do) Palm OS so much.
Global application menu bar (File, Edit, etc.) at the top of the screen. You know, like all good operating system interfaces have.

Back in the late '90s I registered / paid for a few programs for the Apple Newton with Kagi, one of the early payment processors. I hadn't much thought about them since.
On IRC, I just overheard that there is some paid search engine called Kagi, at the same URL.
But, what happened to the Kagi I knew? A little digging revealed that it did not end well for the beleaguered company headed by Kee Nethery.
