Tried my hand at making some #Marranitos today. You might think these are just gingerbread cookies shaped like a pig but their texture is quite a bit different from traditional gingerbread cookies.

These are more like a cross between a cookie and cake texture wise. These tasty little piggies are popular in Mexico and in Mexican American communities.

This recipe was good but am also going to try a more traditional recipe that uses piloncillo (Mexican cane sugar).

OMG!!! 💩

I just discovered that a Starbread Bakery just opened recently in my town.

#Starbread for the uninitiated are a Filipino #PanDulce also called #SenoritaBread which are f*cking addictive!!

You (or at least I) can't eat just 1. The charge 60 cent for each and fortunately (for me) they don't offer discounts for larger quantities.

So, I'm going to cruise by tomorrow to buy a bag of 5 (the smallest quantity they sell) and grab a free cup of coffee (which I've got a coupon for) to give their a try . . .

but this will be a 1-shot visit because I just started a diet and, if I visit this place more than once, my diet will be blown!!!

They also sell meat filled empanadas and buns & other things but I can resist them. It's just the Starbread that I have to avoid!!! 🙏
