Existem muitos apps para fazer download de vídeos do Youtube. Boa parte deles são apenas uma interface gráfica (GUI) do yt-dlp e nem sempre são intuitivos ou funcionam como o esperado.

Resolvi então testar o yt-dlp "puro", no terminal.

Fui surpreendido postivamente: ao menos na versão atual, está bem simples de usar, basta digitar no terminal: "yt-dlp UrlDoVídeo" e Enter.

No caso de Playlists: "yt-dlp UrlDaPlaylist" e Enter.

Há casos em que o vídeo precisa de login e só será baixado com o comando "yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser firefox UrlDoVídeo" (troque "firefox" pelo nome do navegador que você usa, se for outro).

Para tudo funcionar de primeira, recomendo a instalação do app Parabolic (que já possui o yt-dlp incluso) e depois configurá-lo como na figura em anexo: Preferências, Gerenciador e em Cookies do navegador, selecionar aquele você utiliza.

OBS: para o download em si, recomendo apenas o comando via terminal, pois o Parabolic está com um bug em que pode baixar o vídeo com idioma diferente do original (quando há várias faixas de áudio)

I changed my mind and made Devolve's icon myself in Inkscape. Somehow I couldn't export it right as an SVG, so my Audio and Video downloader won't have a vector icon.

I closed the issue Need for Icon at:
https://codeberg.org/theoteno/Devolve/issues/2

I also played a bit of Neva, it will be a long time to finish it: as I play it in short sessions.

And finally I can mention that I added Unrud's Video Downloader to AlternativeTo, as it still can download videos in different quality: unlike #Parabolic.

There are plenty of ways to download videos from well-known video streaming sites on Ubuntu but I find Parabolic the easiest, least hassle option out there. For those yet to hear about it, Parabolic is a GTK4/libadwaita app for Linux (or a Qt one for Windows) that offers what it describes as a ‘basic frontend’ to yt-dlp. All sites supported by yt-dlp are supported in this app. Paste in a URL, validate, and download. Parabolic lets you download multiple videos simultaneously and save them to popular video or audio formats; sign-in with account details (if needed) and see the credentials to :sys_more_orange:

On with my #uv #cyanotype #projector experiment. Look at that! A simple polished reflector made from an aluminum can can definitely focus a light beam. This was just a simple experiment. I need to 3D print supports to control the curvature and make it #parabolic. Two of these can be used to focus light from an LED lamp to the DMD chip to make an image. I wonder how terrible that image will be. But also it could be controlled by an #aperture.
