My friend from #Singapore ignored my warning about German #parcel service during holiday season, and sent a parcel with Singapore Post, which arrived (tracked) in Frankfurt/Main, got processed by #customs (tracked), and was handed to #DHL (tracked), where it mutated to a "registered letter", which couldn't go to my registered drop-off #shop because it was now a #letter, got redirected to a DHL shop on Thursday where it had disappeared when I tried to pick it up today.

My #DHL #parcel was actually delivered at first try 😱.

Even trough we're supposed to be halfway the normal route, the local driver decided it's easier to put us at the end. Which is kinda true and fine by me. But not if most of the time he runs out of time and because he doesn't want to work late sets it as "we missed you, we try again tomorrow". Like, no you just skipped us and decided to go home before finishing... Give me my shit.

The fact I'm surprised it's actually delivered today is sad.

Royal Mail unveils Christmas 2025 stamps with fresh take on the Nativity

The five-stamp series, released this week, includes depictions of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, the Wise Men, an angel and Baby Jesus. The designs are inspired by traditional craft techniques such as collage, marquetry and enamelling, creating a textured, layered feel that evokes the richness of handmade art.

A crafted celebration of Christmas

Paula Doherty’s illustrations aim to capture the spirit of assemblage — bringing fragments together in harmony — to offer a fresh take on one of the season’s most iconic stories.

The stamps include:

• Angel – 2nd Class
• Mary and Joseph – 2nd Large Letter
• Mary and Baby Jesus – 1st Class
• Shepherds – 1st Large Letter
• Three Wise Men – £3.40

Royal Mail worked with Professor Ben Quash of King’s College London and Professor Andrew Davison of the University of Oxford to shape the theological and artistic direction of the issue.

‘The magic of the season’

David Gold, Director of External Affairs & Policy at Royal Mail, said:

“For many people, once the Christmas stamps go on sale, the seasonal preparations can begin! There’s something truly magical about this time of year, and these stamps capture that spirit perfectly. We are very grateful to Paula Doherty for these beautiful illustrations, which set the perfect tone for the festive season.”

Illustrator Paula Doherty added:

“I’m so delighted that my designs will finally be out in print and feel excited and slightly overwhelmed to think that they will be on envelopes flying all around the world this Christmas. The hardest part was keeping my involvement under wraps — the unveiling is part of the magic.”
