This is an old slideshow (found in a lost file directory) made with photos taken during my first trip to Paris, in 2003, with my first digital camera: a Nikon Coolpix 2000 (2 MP). 😀
It's not great, but it shows the Paris I love...

The Samaritaine Store Building

The large and high store building of "La Samaritaine" near the bridge "Pont Neuf" in Paris…

In this evocative image, a tranquil scene unfolds along the banks of a river, the Seine, given the context. The black and white palette adds a timeless quality, accentuating the stark contrasts between light and shadow.
A gently cruising boat, illuminated by warm lights, stands out against the cooler tones of the landscape, suggesting a sense of life and movement amid the stillness. The reflections on the water create a shimmering texture that draws the eye, inviting one to linger on the scene.
In the background, stately buildings rise gracefully, their architectural details softened by the monochromatic scheme. The presence of trees adds a touch of nature, balancing the man-made structures and hinting at a connection between urban life and the natural world.

Paris Big Tower, View from Tokyo Palace - 01.2025
35mm - 200 iso
As I was taking this photo, I asked my Parisian host friend what he thought of this iconic tower. His opinion was:
"It's not that I don't like it or think it's ugly, I'm just indifferent to this tower. The main thing I like about it is that it attracts all the stupid tourists to those parts of Paris where I would never go and nothing happens. So in that way the tower is worth it and they should keep it."

"View of the Eiffel Tower on a cloudy day, framed by leafless trees. A bridge is visible in the foreground, along with a reflective pool and paved pathways. The scene has a moody, overcast atmosphere." (AI generated text)
