Performing "Masked Rituals" with Marcelo Daza this May. This performance has come such a long way since we first did it under a Mango tree in Kumasi. We're excited to share it with more audiences.

In de achterzaal beneden in KAdE vind je foto's, schetsen, tekeningen, notities, beschrijvingen en video's die een zeldzaam archiefmateriaal samenbrengen vanaf een vroeg punt in Mona Hatoums carrière, toen ze performances creëerde in zowel kunstruimtes als buiten op straat. Haar performancewerk kwam voort uit haar actieve betrokkenheid bij de rafelranden van de Londense kunstwereld, nadat ze net was afgestudeerd aan de kunstacademie.
De performances van Hatoum zijn bijzonder opvallend omdat ze zowel visueel sterk als emotioneel en politiek betrokken zijn, kenmerken die ten grondslag liggen aan aan haar hele oeuvre. In deze werken zien we thema's waar de kunstenaar vaak naar terugkeert in haar sculpturen, installaties en werken op papier.

Giving the Arctic back its ice
"On November 18, 2023, I filled an ice cube machine with meltwater from the North Pole and returned the cubes to the Arctic Ocean (Båtsfjord, Northern Norway)."
The project was realized during the artists fellowship at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS) Potsdam 2023/24, where she spent a year exploring the representation of the Arctic. The meltwater was provided to her by the journalist and author Birgit Lutz. Her journey was exclusively by public transportation, such as train, bus and ferry, with the exclusion of airplanes and cruise ships. The ice cube machine was powered by a solar battery (charged in advance with Westphalian sunlight)."

About yesterday
We were lucky and the rain didn´t fall while we were performing. And we were lucky to have a photographer because the one that we usually work with (Erik Åhman) turns out to be the brother of one of the singers of the band KAJ who will represent Sweden at the ESC. And understandably he is very busy at the moment travelling with them. Funny enough the whole band is from the area and the whole area is going nuts about it. We found replacement in Kim Blåfield who will send us the official performance documentation next week, so for now its just the afterwards mämmi feast. It was great that so many people came. Stay tuned for more.
And thank you @Pejuksu@mastodon.social for the lemon and orange slices. That was a great addition to the mämmi/memma.

Preparing for tomorrow
Today we went to Vasa to buy mämmi. A traditional Finnish pudding made of rye malt. We will serve it tomorrow after our sound performance. The performance will deal with the term "mämmi". In Swedish and in Finnish (since we are in Finland-Sweden). Dorothee, our host also prepared her legendary eggnog. It will be wild.

The space will be used tomorrow for our upcoming sound performance and has been used in the last months already as a meeting point. We are only using material that the neighbours provided or that we found. The next part will be build when we are back in July. We called the space "Plaza del Råg" and the small path that leads to it "Råg Boulevard".

We made it and arrived in Vörå at Abramsgården. Spring is here and our rye field is slowly awaking. We are now continuing to build the meeting point in the middle of the field (which we startet calling "Plaza del Råg") using material that we get from the neighbours. Today shingles. The cats are still tiny.

Hello fellow #floppy fans! Through some fiddling and optimisation I've freed up about 180KB of space on http://floppy.museum and need something to fill it with.
Since my brain is pretty much empty at the moment, I would be very grateful for any ideas the Fediverse could offer. Some ground rules:
- It needs to fit in the space given (duh!)
- It needs to be relevant to floppies and/or #retrocomputing
- It can be software (yet another service), in which case it must run under #MSDOS on a 286, and should have moderate memory requirements (some EMS and XMS is OK, but at most 380KB conventional..)
- It can be art (but don't expect me to create any, so the license must permit this usage)
- Should not require modern browsers of hardware to access/enjoy
Ideas floated so far:
- Gopher server (problem: how to convert html to gopher pages; yes I've tried, no it's not easy)
- Rmenu (a telnet server allowing running of commands on the machine)
- Samantha Fox GIFs
Spread the word and give me ideas! The sillier the better!

The Virtual Reality
I sit in front of a map and a notebook.
I look at the map and in my mind I follow a path I have walked many times before.
I imagine the walk in real time. I make notes of what I pass, of what I might see and of the directions I follow.
It takes 42 minutes, just as long as it takes me to actually walk the route.
