Another one from our trip to the former police headquarters in Frankfurt. Those are the remnants of the petrol station they operated in the inner yard of the building complex.

The old Silverstone Garage and petrol station near North Finchley, most recently occupied by EuropCar. Whatever one thinks of the internal combustion engine, an abandoned petrol station forecourt is a sorry sight.

Fearing that this was yet another 'gap' to be filled by developers, I checked the agent's web site. Probably due to the flats above, this property is not for development. Instead, a 40 year lease is being offered for sale. Forecourt and canopy, offices, workshop, and yard to the rear. And underground fuel tanks.

Hopefully it will remain as an industrial space, but experience tells us it is more likely to become a furniture showroom or a West African evangelical church.
