I can't believe I've been running PiHole on the network for 2 years and a month now.

I asked the people at our home if they noticed anything and they said they had some trouble accessing very few websites. I just said they're probably malicious domains but otherwise, they noticed ads are gone.

I told them it's for security and privacy purposes. It's also to prevent them from being scammed. Don't want them getting scammed out of their money..

Today's #selfhost project was updating #homarr with integrations instead of just apps. Got #Unifi, #Proxmox, #HomeAssistant, and #PiHole done. Couldn't get #Nextcloud to work, though.

Fick äntligen #CoreDNS att fungera i mitt kuberneteskluster. Farväl #PiHole!

Inte helt optimalt med en off-site proxy för DNS lookups på wireguardnätverket, men allt går genom den ändå TBH så gör väl inte så stor skillnad.

Konkurrenz ist nicht schlecht aber Ich kannte diesen blocker nicht. Beim lesen kam mir der Gedanke dass #Technitium eine Kombination aus beiden ist.

Kennt das jemand? Der Artikel ist reißerisch geschrieben, aber letztendlich soll dieser DNS Blocker ein bessere Ersatz für Pi hole oder Adguard Home darstellen.

Finally got the new #PiHole to talk to #Homarr. Had to manually upload the certificate. It wasn't actually that hard. The trick is the URL should NOT include /admin.

@dannotdaniel @mgarvey My experience installing #PiHole an #RPi 3B was also painless. What took more effort was finding the right blocklists to add. As you can imagine, there are a set of long-lived sites to block as well as new ones that popup all the time. Some lists are very specialized (e.g., malware) and others more catchall. I have settled into a handful of lists that do a great job. Just to share, my hosts lists are in the pictures, attached. #selfhost #privacy

Is there a way to configure #PiHole to use #DNS0 or #DNS4EU with #DoH (#DNS over HTTPS) or #DoT (DNS over TLS)?

I ended up doing the upgrade to v6.2.3, after doing a backup.
Due to the workaround required to patch the previous issue, I had to switch back to the master branch to do the upgrade.

Wobei auch da die Anbieter neue Wege gehen.
Bei Kleinanzeigen gibt es inzwischen Werbeanzeigen in Form einer Kleinanzeige und über den gleichen Server ausgeliefert, so dass beispielsweise #pihole diese nicht ausfiltern kann.
Und Werbung im Videostream verpackt ist eine ähnliche Idee.
