June 22 : Fave Movie Kiss 💋

#PlanetOfTheApes (1968)
Taylor kisses Zira goodbye much to the annoyance of Cornelius.

Taylor : Doctor, I'd like to kiss you goodbye.
Zira : All right, but you're so damned ugly.

Alright, next movie finished:
"Escape from the Planet of the Apes" (1971)

It's a kinda depressing and sad movie, but a good one, better than the second in the series.

Once again it's really impressive how good the masks were, all completely without CGI, and how the actors managed to show so many emotions despite the physically limiting masks.

The movie shows once more a sadly realistic depiction of human xenophobia but also has some fun and happy moments.

And it has a caring president of the USA that cares about people and is unwilling to let innocents die.

Looking forward to seeing the other two movies of the original series.

Just read La Planète des singes, or Planet of the Apes, a 1963 novel by Pierre Boulle. I read the English translation.

Definitely worth reading and full of thought provoking allegory. Surprisingly short and definitely steeped in the tradition of Verne, Wells and Wyndham.

Just like the video media's adaptations of those authors' works, yet another example of missing the point, ignoring the meanings and going for the sensational and obvious, when it comes to film and TV.

A combination of four images including the red, orange, and yellow movie poster for Planet of the Apes from 1968 that include a monochromatic orangoutang headshot overlapping a people cage; a portrait of a photographer in his photo lab, the Femininity in the Post-Apocalypse logo feature the aforementioned text over an angry wasteland warrior, and an upside-down portrait of a social pot stirrer completely surrounded by colorful embroidery floss.
