i'm ezra, aka bauhinia, aka blakeana_00. i'm a gay trans man (scary and evil). not new to fediverse at all, in fact ive been here for 3 years already. not new to wafrn either i just purged my posts

i make art and sometimes contribute to wafrn with localization or css themes.

outside of that i am just a critter living my life. mostly playing vidya games and starting to collect games in their physical form, especially if i played them before.

i made neoseals, neocubes, neorats, neoghosts and perhaps some niche neocat variants you may or may not have used (neocat animals being some of them)

i like collecting, as i collect hardware, games and plushies. though my housing situation is wack, i do not have most of that with me right now so cannot really share.

as for my art, i post some examples below.
i would also say i have a website but its a very heavy wip with almost no content, so there is no use of doing that for now.

i also work on Orchid, a project dedicated to prevention of child sexual abuse in online spaces, influenced by past experiences with such as a witness and victim

oh, and i live in the netherlands and love train rides a lot.

feel free to say hi or ask me something but keep in mind i have low tolerance for malicious bullshit or being incredibly dense on purpose with my words

The fediverse promo video just had its first spectator: my 4-year-old. She came to sit on my lap while I was editing and asked: "can I watch your film?" It was the sweetest thing ever!!! (it's the first time I show her one of my films).

I skipped over the part about the dark side of Big Tech (no need for her to see the worst people in the world) but she didn't notice.

When we got to the last sequence - the screen is black because I haven't had time to do the mosaic of fediverse avatars (yet) - she asked me: "why isn't it finished?" Aw little one, if you only knew how long it takes to do a 4-second VFX sequence, LOL. Tomorrow! Tomorrow hopefully the first rough cut will be complete.

And sort of related: when I was researching my documentary The Illusionists one of the saddest things was reading about the commercialization of childhood. Like how preschoolers already recognize hundreds of brand logos. I've been super present in her life (taking a step back from filmmaking work) and tried to shield my little one from commercial culture. But a moment of pride was this morning. My little one sneaked up behind me while I was editing the fediverse promo video. I pointed to the screen and asked her: "who's that?" She replied enthusiastically: "mamma e Mastodon!" (she calls #Plushtodon "Mastodon"). I found that adorable. My little one at 4 has no idea about commercial brands but she recognizes the Mastodon mascot. I LOVE THAT.

Wishing everyone a great evening and pray for me there won't be any overnight surprises - aka I can sleep a full 8 hours and finally tackle the last VFX sequence. It will be moving to compile your avatars in a mosaic ❤️
