An observation - the local #bees love the thistle. They are all over it. Thistle #honey is supposed to be very special.

In a local gardening group someone is asking how to kill Johnson grass, which is considered a weed in these parts. The irony of this response went unremarked, but I am still laughing about it:
"Use Roundup carefully and spot treat. I have used it for nearly 50 years with great success."

Asshole petroleum dealers make plastics, and they REFUSE to only make plastics that are recyclable, most of the plastics they defecate into stores ARE NOT recyclable, pissing their costs onto us.
THAT'S the problem.
By law, make ALL plastics that are not recyclable ILLEGAL.
Then make all plastic produced be made from majority recycled plastic, so plastic companies MUST mine the seas and shores for old plastic, as part of their business.
I smell weasel. DEFRA (the environment wing of UK government) said
"That is why we are committed to deliver for nature and will change existing policies, including banning the use of those neonicotinoid pesticides that threaten vital pollinators.”
Why didn't they say
"... including banning the use of neonicotinoid pesticides".
