Eisschichten und Reflexionen.

Eine Eisschicht, die nicht glatt ist, sondern aussieht, wie mit einem Farbpinsel ungleichmäßig verteilt, spiegelt den Himmel und eine Trauerweide verzerrt wieder. Ein vertrocknetes Blatt liegt auf dem Eis.

Das Eis erscheint fast wie ein abstraktes Bild mit Farben zwischen braun, gold und braun.

Hier spiegelt die Eisschicht den Himmel - sie wirkt also blau bis dunkel und die Riefen des Eises erscheinen wie gerade und zum Teil parallele Streifen.

Blaues Eis mit einer unregelmäßigen Oberfläche, darunter zwei große eher geschwungene Bereiche.

This photo is of a small pond in a wetland area. The sky is blue with an number of white clouds in view. A tree stump, approximately three feet high, is seen in the middle of the pond. I don't think I have twisted off the cap for the cleanout since I bought the whole assembly... 5months? I only slid the end into the pipe in August so hadn't needed to screw off the cap. It took some leverage/persuasion to turn it.

But I was successful, and now the big filter can be drained. The water was actually higher than the bottom of the cap but no big deal, it's not really under any pressure.

looking down into some gravel with some fallen brown leaves in the middle of the picture is a open 4 inch pipe with water nearly at the top of it and a smaller corrugated pipe and electrical cable going down in. There is a red handled pipe wrench beside and the cap is just above it.

emptied the pond overnight. We have had so much rain this past month! All are full. I am going to drain it all and keep it drained until I get the pumps wired and can habe them installed and running. Don't want the water to get stale and unhealthy.

I think I might hire a stone mason to build the wall.

yesterday afternoon before I put the pump in the pond it was full to the brim with plenty of leaves floating on the surface.

the #pandemicpond is nice in the fall. Always full. Full of all stages of plants. Still attracts birds for a bath. The fish are happy.

Ill need to get my trusty strainer and retrievve the leaves and things before too many sink to the bottom.

i'll look over top of the top pond shows vegetation on the end nearest the stream and some leaves floating in the main body of the pond with dying Lilly pads, goldfish, deep near the rocks

working down the stream, it is lined with moss and grass.

The bottom pond has captured a lot of leaves. The water is dark but clear.

Since I posted a picture of a Ring-necked duck that I mistook as a Redhead Duck, I thought that to atone I would try to take an intentional picture of one. Here you go Ring-necked Ducks everywhere - I recognize you as the splendid water fowl that you are.

This photo was taken overlooking a pond in a wetland area. A walking trail circles around the pond with different views provided. It was taken on a pleasant fall weather day with a blue sky and a number of smaller white clouds overhead. Reflections of both the sky and clouds can be seen on the surface of the water. Trees extend from the left side to the right side in the background of the frame. Although later in October, most of the leaves in this area on the trees are still green.

See this Ring-necked Duck? See that amused, slightly mocking look that she's giving me? It's because she knows that I'm all excited because I think she is the Redneck Duck that I've been trying to get a picture of for two weeks. I held on to that excitement until I ran into a birder who manages to not completely forget everything about all of the ducks who disappear over the summer. Sigh.
