I wanted a quick and efficient way to monitor and alert me (thanks #Pushover) about stuff on the #OpenBSD apu4d4 machine. Plus an extra checks set toward remote machines.
To me, #monit is the way to go for such things.

One huge advantage to using Pushover for Home Assistant notifications is that you get notification history in the Pushover app.
You can do "persistent" notifications within Home Assistant and its mobile app, but I found that to be a bit fiddly compared to just using Pushover.
You can set up multiple "Applications" within Pushover, and wire up an integration in HA to each of those... so you get notification "grouping", too.
Big fan of using Pushover here!
I've finished moving the last of my Home Assistant notifications over to Pushover. It's nice to have them all in one place.
To segment the notifications in logical ways I set up multiple 'Applications' in Pushover. i.e., Reolink for camera notifications, Bambu for 3D printer notifications, and then a generic 'HA' app for other misc notifications.
I also use Pushover for my side project notifications. It really works great, big fan of the service.
Wrote a #bash script tonight, to translate warning messages from smartd to something I can feed to #pushover’s API, netting me push messages on my phone prioritised by warning type, with the worst warnings overriding both silent mode and DND. Kinda proud of it. The basic email-based warnings don’t differentiate, and that annoyed me.

Since #GoToSocial 🦥 (my current fedi server) doesn't support push notifications yet I built a small notifier script 🐍 that polls my server and sends me push notifications via #Pushover if there are any new mentions 🤓👍.
Continued working on the new self-hosted home lab yesterday. At this stage a lot of the work is just infrastructure - zigbee, zwave, MQTT, etc.
But one nice new feature is push notifications when objects are detected by our cameras connected to Frigate. We're using Pushover to send a notification with an image and holy mackerel are they fast! Plenty of notice of inbound visitors now.
