You have to be prepared to put up the antenna all self-supporting. #GMA DA/SX-024 Katzsteinfels (meaning “cat stone rock”) can be combined with #POTA DE-0875 #Forststeig (one of the nicest trails in #Saxony) to get some more chasers. You can go there easily by #Deutschlandticket and leave your car at home or at the hotel. Since #hamradio wasn’t this hike’s premier task I made just 15 QSOs on #20m in #morsecode and in #fm on #vhf and up. #ParksOnTheAir #Amateurfunk #qrp #qcxmini #hiking #mountains

A quick after work activation of #POTA DE-0805 Stadtpark Chemnitz (also DE-0933 Sächsischer Jakobsweg) resulted in 12 QSOs in about 50 minutes. Propagation was okay, but I had to hang the antenna very low. This was the only spot in the proximity where I didn’t exceed the 100 feet rule for the trail (with it being entirely within the forest).
