Ugh. Booted up my laptop to test some code I wrote on my desktop to make sure it behaves on my laptop as well, only to discover the latest #linux #kernel has completely borked my WiFi. I thought it was a system issue, I did some troubleshooting, then just reinstalled #arch. Still no WiFi. I'll try to roll back tomorrow when I have more time to play with it. #razerblade14

@billyjoebowers I used #debian for a few years until I bought a 2024 #razerblade14 and had all sorts of issues. Tried migrating to Debian Sid, but no luck in getting Audio/Wifi working on that laptop until I went to Arch. Just stuck with #arch since then.

Ich teste gerade #Linux Mint auf meinem #RazerBlade14 von 2022 und bin bisher super happy! Im Normalbetrieb (Surfen, Office) läuft er komplett leise und im Akkubetrieb hält er locker 6h durch. Unter #Windows11: Lüfter lärmen im idle Modus, als liefe er unter Vollast, der Akku hält keine 2h.

Oh, goodness. I've distro-hopped like a dozen times this week only to come back to #arch. Something finally got fixed and my sound and wifi are working properly on my 2024 #razerblade14, I _think_ my distro-hopping is finally over for now. #nvidia seems to be working, #steam and #lutris are working in harmony. Now I really, really, need to quit goofing around breaking my laptop and actually work on some things.

Hmm. #nixos is being weird on a fresh install. Without using linuxPackages_latest I get sound but no WiFi, using linuxPackages_latest gives me WiFi but no sound. Having a 2024 #razerblade14 is so frustrating. Tried stable and unstable combos and no luck. I guess I need to figure out what sound driver is being used and pin that version. Just didn't have enough time today. #linux

@Uraael #opensuse is the only distro my 2024 #razerblade14 works completely out of the box. #arch doesn’t give me sound without a script running at startup. Even then, system sounds don’t work.

@therealahall I’d still be using #debian if it worked out of the box for my laptop. Couldn’t get wireless or sound working on a 2024 #razerblade14. When that changes, I’ll be back.

I was able to get #Hyprland WM running alongside my #cinnamon DE in #opensuse. I’m still stumbling around zypper and opi, but making progress overall. But, this is the best overall experience I’ve had so far on my #razerblade14. #linux

Been using #opensuse Tumbleweed on my laptop for a day. So far it seems like everything just works with my 2024 #razerblade14. I’m still learning the OS and it’s not #arch or #nixos but it works, so that’s something. I already miss the #AUR. But my sound and WiFi work without hacks or scripts being run at startup. I was able to get #cinnamon and #Hyprland running side by side without any hassle. #linux

I’ve been fighting sound and WiFi issues on my 2024 #razerblade14 since I got it. I’ve been distro hopping like crazy with varying degrees of success. My path of insanity. #lmde6 -> #debiansid -> #arch -> #nixos -> #arch. I loved #nixos but ran into issues gaming. #arch WiFi works but drops requiring reboot and sound requires a script at startup but no system sounds. Installed #opensuse_tumbleweed tonight and sound and WiFi seems to work. Going to test games tomorrow. Maybe I found a winner?

Hmm. Trying to move my laptop to #nixos and I think I’m going to struggle tomorrow. Because I have a 2024 #razerblade14, I need to use the latest kernel drivers for WiFi to work. It also has an #nvidia card that the latest drivers fail to build against latest kernel on my desktop. Sound is still broken out of the box, but I have a script to fix that. Maybe I’ll luck out, but may need to stick with #arch on the laptop for a while longer. #linux

Found a weird issue with #vscodium that was killing my wifi connection on my #razerblade14. Took me a minute to realize what the culprit was. Did a `yay -Syu` and there was an update available. Hopefully that sorts it out. I much prefer this over other text editors.
