Yuki's lifetime is not one would consider pleasant, even reminiscing can feel like a minefield. From being taken from her home, to being an assassin, all the way to her genie imprisonment for failing. She still tries to reach out; hoping for a better tomorrow in her small prison.

This art piece was brewing for I want to say a year, but it kept being pushed off more and more due to time and confidence. After the animated image, I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. A good chunk of it was made "in the moment." The frames were originally going to be a bit more basic but I wanted to give them a little attachment to the time frames, like the left one having burnt and cracked glass. This went to the background, simple but the shattered glass raining from the top. Getting the poses to line up was a bit harder, needing to draw essentially 4 versions of the same character. I was worried for a moment but the execution once the shading was underway felt incredibly solid.

Yuki ([She/Her] A short woman with long red hair, often wearing an aquagreen bra with silver metallic rims. She has an aquagreen genie tail with a silver belt around her waits. She is stuck with a silver metallic collar and shackles, all three having chain dangling from them.) is laying on her side to the ground in distress and reaching up to the sky or where freedom could be. Around her are photo frames of her past, some scared and uncomforting. The first on the left is a photo frame that is scorching and on fire, with a broken glass, with a person covered in shadows looking down at a young yuki with the only non-glass section focusing on it's head. The secod is a frame but drenched in blood of Yuki in her dark green ninja gear caught in a home as the police arrived on a late night, the area in disarray from a scuffle. The last on the right is almost like a mirror, showing her human form as the genie she is now, trapped in the vessel. All three reaching out, possibly for help.
