Started sponsoring someone, something I've never done in all these years. So far it's much more easy and natural than I expected and pays off all around, just like everyone said.

I won't drink with you today.
Full day. Met with a sponsee, my sponsor, and a couple of new meetings I didn't like much, but that's OK, there's worse ways to spend a day.
Another good one. A brief look at the history of parts work, how the basic parts correlate in modern neurobiology, and a Buddhist take\application.

For years I didn't have a home group and didn't understand the need. I'm not a very social person, I'm not much of a joiner.
Now I do. It brings added depth.

A good night, good meetings, good people.
Even though I wasn't in the mood, it was good and good for me.
(I'm never in the mood)
Hanging out with a bunch of drunks who aren't drinking can really make you feel better.
You can do whatever you want, but taking advice on how to save your life and how to live from people who are angry, bitter, and unhappy doesn't seem like a great idea.
Are they telling you about what they hate or what they love?
These are difficult times. We don't do politics in meetings for the sake of the whole, but don't expose yourself to people you don't know well either, for the sake of your own ass.
I am still surprised at the positions of some people I know.
It gets different.
It gets different.
@demerara thank you for this!
I've never really done meetings, but also hadn't considered secular online meetings. I'll have to check it out! Also excited to learn of #RecoveryPosse !
Without my sobriety I have nothing.
Literally.
Getting complacent is a killer.
I did, and luckily I'm still here, and back on track.

Keep it together.
Let it go.
Go to a meeting.
Call a friend.
Call your sponsor.
I heard someone say "I have a hard time doing the right thing."
What I learned was to stop making it a debate. As soon as I start to debate whether to do the right thing I'm in trouble.
I was sitting in a meeting where the topic was women in AA. Wow, a lot of men are weird.
I have to never forget what it was like. I've found myself thinking "I wasn't like that" until I remember oh yes I was, it's just been a long time.
Newcomers in a meeting talking about temptation and craving. One said "I guess I'll always have to deal with it, even the old timers do".
No, you don't. That's the point of the program. That's a battle you will eventually lose, and/or live miserably.
It's not a program of white knuckle abstinence, it's learning how to live and be comfortable.
"And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone – even alcohol."
