It was spring cleaning trash day last week so of course I pulled lots of potential canvases from the piles- including this little board. Then I got some beautiful new turquoise paint ($1 on sale!). And the flowers are all busting open. And it’s sunny for the first time in too many days…. Thank goodness for that since the rest of my country feels anything but sunny or hopeful. So I resist with joy and color and sharing.

A paper collage has two different colored, green fir trees and trees with bare branches. There is a leaping, gray deer and a small, gray rabbit on a thin strip of brown paper representing the ground. Three strips of different sizes and colored pieces of blue paper are stacked in the upper right to represent the sky. There’s a small, orange sun just above the longest blue strip. Little bits of grass have been hand drawn in olive green ink.

A paint just for giggles number 4 of 2025. This picture turned out to be a shiny greeting card behind the frame. Yes some mad person actually framed it 😆. The paint wouldn’t stick, the shininess kept blinding my cataract and yet I still managed a bit of a paint job. Street Art

In 2008 Joshua Allen Harris created sculptures out of recycled plastic bags attached to subway gratings in New York City. When the sculpture is at rest, it looks like trash in the street. But as as the subway passes the sculptures come to life.

It was a nice treat today to learn a new craft with @ishambard ’s nan and create something for Christmas. This technique is known as Suffolk puff and involves crafting with scraps of fabric cut into circles, a running double stitch to fasten each piece into shape with the help of a milk bottle lid and fastened with a bead, before stitching everything together and attaching a loop to make a Christmas tree.
