Dem Rotmilan entgeht keine noch so kleine Bewegung auf grosse Distanz.
Die starke Segmentierung und intensive Bewirtschaftung fördert viel Nahrung für diesen Greifvogel zutage. Er profitiert stark davon und hat sich deshalb im letzten Jahrzehnt in der Schweiz stark vermehrt.

I’m really bad at getting pictures of birds in flight, so was quite pleased with this shot when I was at Welney.

Rotmilane fressen gerne Fisch wenn es sich anbietet. Der Aal ist geradezu ein Leckerbissen für die Greifvögel.

Red kites enjoy eating fish when the opportunity arises. Eels are a particular delicacy for these birds of prey.

💬 I'm always amazed at the detail and elegance of raptors – from the sharp gaze of a buzzard to the fiery tail of a red kite mid-flight. Even the slow, misty exit of a grey heron tells a story.
