I wrote about a holographic AI startup I saw at last week. It seemed interesting, though similar to Samsung Neon (remember that?). I wonder if we'll see more of them emerge over the next year.

AWS re:Invent 2024 – Event-driven architectures at scale: Manage millions of events

There’s an incredible number of videos already on YouTube from this year’s re:Invent. In fact, most were up within 24 hours following the live session. It sort of boggles my mind that this is possible.

Anyway, I thought I’d share videos I’ve been watching here, because why not.

This first one is really good. It’s two folks at AWS who I admire and have had a chance to work with this past year. Eric Johnson and Brian Zambrano.

In this talk, they go over the basic concepts around Event Driven Architecture, and then dive deep into how large scale organizations can manage millions of events across hundreds of domains.

Enjoy!

I was surprised when Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced a new foundation model—one with six variations! After sorting through my thoughts, I wrote down why Amazon Nova is an interesting play by the company and how it'll benefit those in the enterprise. 👇

No shortage of announcements/talks at re:Invent here in Vegas—from @AWS CEO Matt Garman and President & CEO of Amazon Andy Jassy to partners like Apple.

Question: will AI replace your job? I break it all down in this Forbes article >>

Day 1: re:Invent 2024 from the basement

I'm not at re:Invent this year. It's ok, I was able to go last year, and will attempt to attend next year. But, I am observing from afar, from the comfort of my home and probably JFK27 tomorrow where others like me will attend watch parties and talk about how much walking is involved when you attend a conference like re:Invent. Vegas or New York, I am still here to follow the announcements, try out new services and capabilities, and start trying to figure out how I am going to share what […]

Most common question we’ve been getting: why with multiple Gen-AI models instead of focusing on one?

Our belief: not all AI models are created equal. CodeRabbit does the hard work of querying multiple AI models for different aspects of code reviews cycle. We already work with OpenAI and Claude and look forward to working with Amazon Nova.

Amazon Bedrock InlineAgents

Announcing InlineAgents for Agents for Amazon Bedrock

https://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2024/11/inlineagents-agents-amazon-bedrock/

This feature enables rapid experimentation with different AI configurations, trying out various agent features and dynamically updating the tools available to an Agent without creating separate agents.

I love anything that “enables rapid experimentation.” This new capability was released yesterday and it sort of flew under the radar, but it seems like a really interesting launch. The ability to dynamically create agents in my code opens up all kinds of possibilities.

Pre-Invent Roundup

AWS Weekly Roundup: multiple new launches, AI training partnership with Anthropic, and join AWS re:Invent virtually (Nov 25, 2024)

This is a good roundup of the notable launches from AWS ahead of re:Invent 2024. I’m loving the “scale to zero” launches so far, as well as all the updates to AWS Lambda. Can’t wait to see what unfolds next week!

Stay tuned to this blog as I’ll be sharing thoughts and reflections on all the new things as I attempt to find ways to incorporate them into my work!
