Dis mastodon, j’utilise #resilio sync depuis un bail mais ils m’ennuient avec leur licence dans la version 3 et je cherche une alternative open source.
Qu’est ce que vous conseillez pour de la synchro P2P entre appareils (pc, android, serveur) ?
Il me semble que #syncthing a droppé Android.
Et Nextcloud est trop lourd pour mon petit serveur.

@shannonkay if you store your #resilio shares on a filesystem like APFS or jHFS+ it retains metadata , _usually_. sometimes it goes missing still, but i have a mix of zfs/btrfs/xfs/apfs so most of my shares get macOS metadata like tags whacked when they move files around. it's extremely hard to preserve that even in 2025. which sucks cuz i use filesystem tags a lot. the only place they are assured is DEVONthink for me.

resilio performance gets bad with large shares with many files. otherwise:<4

@leitmedium Ich habe schon vor langer Zeit (nahezu) komplett auf #Resilio umgestellt und synce über eigene Rechner auf eine NAS. Ich hatte das Lehrgeld bezahlt, als Amazon vor Jahren mir einmal den Cloud Dienst gekündigt hatte. Es liegt zwar überall noch Kleinkram aber nichts, was schmerzen würde, wenn der Dienst morgen weg ist.

my #ResilioSync setup has been running for years but i'm starting to run into open file limits and a lot of scan thrashing. i'm making some adjustments to the #resilio parameters in the advanced options but i think i really need to further distribute the folders i'm sharing and syncing to reduce the depth and volume i think.

#seafile is really impressive but not as easily integrated into my #householdIT at all, unfortunately. i'll try it when i built a new filer.

What's the current hotness for backups? Looking at #kopia and #borg, both seem pretty straightforward. #rsync is a workhorse but I'm trying to play around with using #resilio to replicate data to a centralized nas and then do something locally for back ups.

@arda i chose #resilio bitorrentSync mainly because it was the most respectful of macOS metadata between the two, it's usually sucking up 2 cores and being a pain in the ass but at least my dotfiles are consistent.

All PRO Features of Sync now free for all users. Using this myself since years and could not be more happy with the flawless and fast synchronisation over all devices I do use .. Windows, Android, Linux and NAS systems as well. #sync #resilio #share #files #filesharing

if you have a repo or an especially great `awesome-wayalnd` i'd love to check it out. i'm pretty out of the loop after xorg/xfree86!

i use #Resilio to sync a `dotfiles.shared` folder around my workstations and household systems, then dotfiles.$hostname for workstations and resilio syncs those around too. i created a zprezto module for my more daring zsh hax.

I know the feeling. It took a while to get my family to on board to some of my services.... but they eventually came around. Apple locking the wife's pictures behind pay wall did the trick. It wasn't too much of a stretch from there to #immich, #resilio sync, #nextcloud etc.

With the recent Evernote panic, people mention #Resilio sync as a viable peer-to-peer sync solution. This goes back to when Dropbox became "evil" AFAIK.

i have used #PhoneView for _years_ to keep my archive of messages and it's such a strange thing to have available, plot the trajectory of relationships, my health, my kids, my family. i have a long log tail here. if i export as a PDF it's measured in hundreds of GB, but this application is probably nearing the end of it's life if it'll eventually suck up hundreds of GBs of _memory_

i love #Resilio for private sync between workstations and devices but i need to re-design my #filingSystem _BAD_.

okay i am still baffled by this. for some reason when i'm in a local shell/terminal window i can render emoji and unicode chars fine. e.g. `ƒ` `•`

but when i ssh to another machine and view the same directories they don't render chars correctly and i can't figure out why it's rendering wrong only after i leave localhost! they look good in finder #zsh #iterm

they're looking great in Finder, DEVONthink, etc. folder sync in this screenshot is via #resilio but like i said looks right on-host.

보호를 위한 이중화에는 갸웃하게 되더라고요. 이후로 저는 웹앱 기반한 파일 동기화는 고려를 잘 안하게 되었습니다.
비트토런트 P2P 기반한 #Resilio Sync도 괜찮아요.

Musiksammlung ist wieder komplett, den Ordner in #resilio habe ich gelöscht und neu erstellt, jetzt verhält es sich auch wieder brav.

Ergebnis: #duplicati hatte gar kein Problem, hatte einwandfrei gesichert und auch wiederhergestellt. Als Wiederherstellungsziel einen Ordner anzugeben, der mit #resilio gesynct wird, und bei dem resilio der Meinung war dass der leer sein müsste, weil ich die Inhalte ja versehentlich gelöscht hatte, stellte ein Problem dar. resilio wollte halt den vermeintlich korrekten Zustand herstellen, indem es die wiederhergestellten Dateien direkt wieder löschte.

Mooooment es ist jetzt aber nicht etwa so dass der Restore in #duplicati eigentlich funktioniert aber #resilio die Dateien direkt wieder löscht weil die Ordner laut resilio leer sein sollten??
