Working my way through the #Rincewind series. Finished The Colour of Magic and working on The Light Fantastic.

The works of #TerryPratchett are far funnier and clever than they have any right to be.

The one with #Rincewind and #Twoflower? Lotsa action, adventure, slapstick, and tongue-in-cheek commentary on how the world works. And how strange and likable people from other countries are. Plus, everyone likes an underdog who can't even spell wizzard. If they start to like Rincewind they have more novels to look forward to.

Terry Pratchett ist für mich mit Abstand die #1 im Genre Fantasy, obwohl ich bisher nicht alle Romane kenne
Deshalb habe ich 2023 zum Jahr der Scheibenwelt erklärt, denn ich werde alle Scheibenwelt Hörbücher anhören und zwar in dieser Reihenfolge:

1. Zauberer
2. Der Tod
3. Hexen
4. Stadtwache
5. Feucht von Lipwig
6. Tiffany Weh

Mit den Zauberer-Romanen bin ich soeben fertig geworden. Rincewind ist einfach ... cool

you mention #Discworld as a book example, but have you seen the live action films The Colour of Magic (based on the first two #Rincewind novels), #Hogfather (#DEATH and Susan the titular holiday character), and Going Postal (Moist von Lipwig reviving the post office), as well as the animations #SoulMusic and #WyrdSisters?
Short live action + CGI film #TrollBridge has also been filmed, but AFAIK it's only been shown at a film festival so far.
