The Big Elk, also known as #Storelgen (meaning "big elk" in Norwegian), is the world's second-tallest sculpture of an elk/moose (Alces alces). It held the title of the tallest moose sculpture for 4 years, from its completion in October 2015 until October 2019 - on our way back to Larvik we finally made it to this great sculpture close to National Road 3.

After a night in Jasper, the absolutely stunning drive down the Icefields Parkway to Banff, a night in Lake Louise, and a half day drive out of the mountains, we are now in Drumheller, AB for a couple of days.

The Icefields Parkway was just mind blowing. Absolutely one of the most scenic drives I've done.

Lovely except you have to use a credit card to reserve and to check into any hotel. They won't let you stay if you just have cash, even if you pay with cash the next morning!
