I just recently learned that MystiCon, which I had long since ruled out as defunct from COVID, is returning in 2026. I went there in 2013 when Peter Davison (actor for the Fifth Doctor) was the main guest. It seemed like a pretty solid local convention back then.

A large ceramic vase (the same one as in the original post) with a voluminous, bottom portion, narrow waist and flared neck, at the beach washed over by clear blue ocean water. The vase is intricately decorated with earth tones, and a light aqua glaze. Patterns swirl around the vase, just as the waves and water do.

This photo was taken on the same day as the photo in the original post. The angle of the vase in the water is different and the lighting is slightly different, as well. The vase stands more upright and sunlight dances in the water around the vessel.

The same vase in the phase after bisque firing and glazing but before the final glaze firing. Instead of rich, deep earth tones and aqua, we see pink and white tones that will transform in the kiln. The piece sits on a wood shelf with a pale blue-green wall in the background.
