Flourishing isn’t something one being achieves alone.
Living systems tell the real story — one of reciprocity, interdependence, and shared conditions.

Kimmerer’s words feel especially steady right now, as many of us sense the limits of individual solutions and begin turning toward mutual care — with each other, and with the land.

Wow, Robin Wall Kimmerer on the Time Magazine list of the 100 Most Influential People in 2025! I see that this news is actually a bit old already, but I had missed it. This is such ! Her book Braiding Sweetgrass was the main inspiration for my most performed musical work this year, I named my piece "Becoming Indigenous" after one of the chapters in her book. Her message should be spread everywhere

🧵 #GoodNews The news is some months old but I missed it: When the Times Magazine published its famous list of The 100 Most Influential People in 2025, #RobinWallKimmerer was among them! "During a time of tremendous #environmental fear and uncertainty, we have found, to our immeasurable relief, our master teacher." time.com/collections/100-most-
A relief for me that persons of such an #integrity and #decency influence our world. Despite being quiet they make an impact.

“We protect what we fall in love with.”

Love isn’t the soft escape we’ve been taught to imagine — it’s the grounding force that helps us show up.
It roots us in what matters.
It steadies us when things get hard.
And it gives us the courage to stop looking away and start tending the world in front of us.

Love is responsibility.
Love is protection.
Love is practice.

@Violinknitter Big fan here! I discovered her by an essay on @emergencemagazine and participated in her workshops and lectures during the lock-downs. She's so charismatic and decent.

Braiding Sweetgrass came just in time when I was discussing anthropocentrism. And after that I had to buy magnifying glasses: youtube.com/watch?v=c3FSpMMzUNI

That, I think, is the power of ceremony. It marries the mundane to the sacred. The water turns to wine; the coffee to a prayer.

What if our economy protected what we love instead of harming it?
It’s time for systems that honour life.

Leseprobe:
