The Russian government has previously attempted to remove Queer content from other gaming platforms, including the Minecraft modding platform Modrinth.

In late September 2025, the Russian government requested Modrinth remove Queer mods from their platform, and threatened to ban their website if they did not comply. They initially complied, but faced intense public backlash, and reversed their decision. According to a Modrinth employee speaking in the Modrinth Discord, their website is banned by some Russian ISPs as of 2025-11-11 (https://discord.com/channels/734077874708938864/734077874708938867/1437920162929049691).
