He used the right-wing Sokal Squared attack on gender and race studies to attack the Dutch humanities and Gloria Wekker's work on White innocence, together with Frederiks in a Correspondent podcast, and used (uses?) indigenous peoples as props in his articles and book. That article you shared on his centrism really hits the nail on the head about his co-optation of activism. As someone in your thread also says: he takes work from others, simplifies it, and then sells it. In doing so, he makes it also harmless to the status quo, into a form of controlled opposition.

Bonuspunten voor de reactie: "cliché-slissende zendeling', dat vat het wel aardig samen.
@mandrasch Man könnte meinen, dass weniger Arbeit und mehr Freizeit sowie bedingungslos monatlich Geld auf dem Konto genug Motivation bieten sich für solche Lösungen zu interessieren und zu engagieren.
Offenbar ist dem nicht so und es braucht massive Anstrengungen zur Aufklärung der breiten Masse warum #viertagewoche und #BGE so wichtig sind.
"Utopien für Realisten" von Rutger Bregman finde ich dazu sehr lesenswert.
