A very #LoFi photography, tasken w/ Lomography's pretty Diana F plus #PlasticDiva and it's wonderful 75mm standard plastic-lens on a very hot summer day.

Exposed on Kodak Gold 200 35mm color negative, developed in Adox Rodinal (1to100 dilution) b&w developer for ca. 50 minutes. Scanned w/ Epson V370 & VueScan pro on Linux. Hardware corrections, no further editing. #GrainIsGood ! 😉

Nachbau eines zweimmastigen Segelschiff aus dem 18. Jahrhundert auf einem Fluss. Die Segel sind gesetzt.

Heute ist wieder #SchiffsSamstag, dieses Mal mit einem #Segelschiff unter tschechischer 🇨🇿 (!) Flagge. Die LA GRACE IST der originalgetreue Nachbau einer Brigg aus der Zeit um 1760. Beim genauen Hinsehen erkennt man, dass sie gerade mit einer Kanone Salut schießt. Jetty

I was attending a colleague's wedding party, when I saw this beautiful sailboat gliding across the water. I quickly excused myself and walked over to this jetty, which was not far from the place where the party was. Luckily, nobody was on the jetty when the boat glided through the centre of my frame. Right after I got this shot, a couple passed me and walked into this view. It all came together at the right moment.

Zum #SchiffsSamstag die Schonerbrigg GREIF vor der Warnemünder Ostmole. 1951 bis 1990 diente das aus Stahl gebaute Schiff der DDR als Segelschulschiff unter dem Namen WILHELM PIECK. Die GREIF gehört der Stadt Greifswald und wird zur Zeit überholt. In diesem Sommer soll sie wieder in See gehen.

December 18 - the birthday of #Dutch marine artist Willem van de Velde the Younger (1633–1707). Most of Van de Velde's work represents shipping off the coast of the #Netherlands. The vessels are painted with extremely intricate detail, providing a high-quality record of shipping in the period. He also excelled in his renderings of the sea and sky under various weather conditions.

Dutch Ships in a Calm Sea (1665) by Willem van de Velde the Younger. A few warships in a calm sea: their sails are being hoisted, their anchors raised. The small squadron is getting ready to depart. A sloop with dignitaries rows past the ships, to the sounding of trumpets and firing of salutes. In 1778, this painting was described in a sales catalog as exceptional: ‘one of the best gems by this outstanding marine painter.’

Moonlight falls across several masted ships near a rocky shoreline. A veil of slate-gray clouds is lit to pearl white around the crisp, full moon at the center of the composition. Moonlight reflects down the center of rippling, silvery-gray water that laps against a beach close to us, along the bottom edge of the painting.

In July 1646, a large Dutch transport fleet carrying thirty thousand soldiers and their equipment gathered at Dordrecht in a show of force by the rebel northern provinces—fighting for independence from the Spanish crown.

The Shipwreck (1772) by French artist Claude-Joseph Vernet (1714-1789).
The Shipwreck epitomizes the type of marine subject for which Vernet was best known. He painted the scene with lively brushwork, corresponding to the various effects of clouds, waves, and foam; his figures, however, were carefully and precisely rendered.
