Too often, projects fall into excess focus on capital outlay for flashy redesigns and then fail to sustain. By contrast, the Fire Station, achieving a strong reconstruction through local initiative and effort, has thrived.

Here are some details about the music video and lino-cut prints I've made inspired by Jim Craigie's fiddle tune Maggie Watson's Farewell to Blackhammer.
My version is about a different resident of Blackhammer. It includes field recordings I made of Michael Prater attacking the walls of the house with picks, drills, hammers, and his feet. Unfortunately he never got to finish renovating the property and fled to Guyana!

If you look up Jim Craigie's popular fiddle tune "Maggie Watson's Farewell to Blackhammer" you will find people seem to think it has something to do with Blackhammer, the neolithic cairn on Rousay. That is not correct. This is the actual story, which inspired me to make a lino-cut and record a version of the tune myself.

It was the success of Ally's Tartan Army (the single, not the team) that gave the record company the means to finance Chou Pahrot's LP.
