This is a helpful little article because it says the fomites can still infect you if you touch them within two hours of them being deposited on the surface.
I really hate the title of this article though. Measles didn’t visit Boston. An infected disease spreader knowing they were sick visited Boston and spread the measles.
Also what happens to the people who have to do a 21 day quarantine? How do they brace for that if they’re going to lose their job for not going to work?
“The Boston Public Health Commission reports people not vaccinated against measles who happened to spend any time at the #Westin Seaport (including its restaurants) between 5:30 p.m. this past Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the MFA between 1 and 6 p.m. on Sunday or Logan Terminal C between 5 and 11:15 p.m. on Sunday should immediately check with their healthcare providers - and maybe brace for a 21-day quarantine if it turns out they were themselves infected by a person with measles who was at those places.
On June 8, the person then flew on #JetBlue flight 639 to #Miami on a flight that departed at 9:12pm. BPHC and [the state] DPH are working with the CDC to identify and notify passengers who may have been exposed. As BPHC and DPH collect more information, they will notify the public and individuals directly.”
