So for me cold feet take on a whole new meaning of hell. Not for my imaginary partner, no, for me sensory overload hell. It may sound odd for feet to control so much, trust me, I agree it is utter . What do I find as a solution?

Downtown Victoria & all the loud noises & the many people busyness, gives me anxiety. Luckily, I have over a week to work on lowering that before I have to be anywhere downtown.

WHY do shops feel the need to HAVE TO play (REALLY BAD) Music and SO LOUDLY???

Just Seriously....
WHY Do Shops ALWAYS Play Music??

I have risked physical injury to avoid sensory overload. It's not that I'm unaware of the danger. It's a calculated risk I take, which I consider fully worthwhile.

It's an established fact that autistic facial expressions are often below the threshold of conscious awareness to non-autistic observers. I linked to research on this topic not long ago.

Next time you hear about an autistic kid having no sense of danger or no fear, consider the possibility that maybe the kid was suffering from sensory overload and those around them just couldn't see it on their face. Maybe that kid ran out into traffic or into the woods alone to get away from something that was making them miserable, and you just missed all the signs.

3 1/2 minutes into A Quiet Place, and all I can think is how beautiful the lack of sound is so far. I'm sure I'll get jumpscared soon enough, but in the meantime, wow, this is nice!

I really want to get cochlear implants or something along those lines so I can voluntarily turn *off* my hearing. My life would be so much better if I had control over that. No more marathon torture sessions at the hands of neglected neighborhood dogs or tweenagers who mistakenly think their bass makes them cool...

Today on the blog I talk about meltdown.
Not stress. Not exaggeration.
But real neurological collapse — the kind you can’t stop, the kind you can’t explain.
What happens before, during, and after...
but no one wants to see.

This image represents sensory overload.
The chaos, the saturation, the desperate need to decompress.
I tried to capture this in a poetic way —
from a neurodivergent perspective.

You’ll find the full piece in the comments..

I started watching Twitch again after a seven-week break for Lent. Watching it the way I did before has not been good for me, so I plan to drastically limit how I watch it or be willing to stop watching altogether.

Here, there, everywhere, across #YYJ - so many loud road/building construction noises.
I forgot my earplugs at home today.

Tänään vaihteeksi hermosto ylikierroksilla, ja piti buutata 80min päiväunin. Töissä muutama käänne vissiin liikaa. Kohta yöunille.

Hello friends! 😊 How's everyone doing today? I'm taking it easy and working from the recliner in our living room due to some pain and inflammation in my feet. Elevating them seems to be helping. They still hurt a little, but I can finally move my toes without excruciating pain! 🙌

I've been dealing with some weird inflammation in different parts of my body, and my feet are just the latest and worst spot. My stepdad headed off to the grocery store a little while ago, and the only downside to being in the living room is the dogs barking when he returns. I'm all tensed up expecting them to bark at any time. Might just go ahead and put on my headphones to avoid the overstimulation. 🎧

I'm about to dive into lesson 15 of my #BrailleProofreading course, and I also plan to fit in some #Coding practice with #Codecademy. Looking forward to making progress!

Wishing you all a comfortable and productive day. Take care! 🌟

Some of us are able to keep swimming.
Many are too tired from treading water.
Some of us sink.
