A followup to some silly doodles I made over a year & a half ago.
I had found the idea of Paul Frees & Chuck Jones butting heads during the production of GAY PURR-EE funny in of itself as both guys had large egos. And after reading more on Frees' life (& stature) I wanted to draw something a little more (arguably) accurate & Calculon-esque.

While I know my style already draws a lot on Viv's, her style as seen in her shows is a lot more sharp-edged than what I usually go for. So I wanted to try it with Ophelia, similar to last week's piece & Verosika Mayday-inspired.

Maskless Crane is heavily influenced by Alucard from HELLSING & Linda Sejic's character Dr. Vlad Stein.
Whereas I was trying to make the Red Sky-era Scarecrow my own. I don't know HOW the animators for that series were able to draw that fragmented-looking design so easily.

So I was rewatching Phelous's review of MORTAL KOMBAT: THE JOURNEY BEGINS, & Jeff Bennett's wonderfully snarky & petulant line reads for Johnny Cage made me wanna draw another take on Ace Copular from POWERPUFF GIRLS. I hadn't drawn him in a while & I used to have such a crush on Ace when I was 13.

I'm on another Jeff Bennett kick. Been rewatching CAPTAIN SIMIAN & THE SPACE MONKEYS, & Orbitron's first appearance (before he got damaged) was just so deadpan & sassy for a faceless floating robot I had to draw the expressions I pictured for these lines.
