I took this at the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya. I saw this type of elevated threshold a lot when I was in China. Two things I was told were that it is disrespectful to step on it and that it is there to keep out evil spirits.

I took this at the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shinto shrine in Kyoto. It dates from 711 A.D. and features a path with hundreds of traditional gates. There were a heck of a lot of people here.

Alright, after some thought, I'm reactivating this account.

While Pixelfed is a great platform and I recommend it to anyone who likes pictures and photography, I don't know if I "need" one more fediverse account.

So let's try something a little different with it.

I'll try to make one post a day as a summary of what I did that day. I'm warning you, most days will be pictures of my office one way or the other (as I don't think I should be taking pictures of my classrooms, at least, not when students are in it).
