The 135-metre container ship NCL Salten ran aground just before 5am on Thursday, almost hitting a house in the Trondheim fjord outside Byneset on its way to the western town of Orkanger. The EU has imposed several rounds of sanctions against Russia's infamous "shadow fleet" for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The latest measures blacklisted 189 vessels, bringing the total number of ships under restrictions to almost 350.

But is there more to be done?

Our fourth museum of the trip was the memorial ship Mashumaru (摩周丸). This ships serves as a museum for the history of the Aomori - Hakodate ferry line that was obsoleted by the Seikan tunnel. Super cool to be able to explore the bridge! 日本語だけど

Wife and I have never taken a cruise as she has never been drawn to the gigantic cruise ships.

But these Seacloud Spirit sailing ship cruises have caught our eye. Very few guests (a max of 136 guests and 85 crew), and you get to watch them pilot a real sailing ship. Would be great to learn how they do it under full sail.

Looking now at a 2027 sailing to Costa Rica and thru the Panama Canal.

Our Ship Was In Service With The Hurtigruten Coastal Express Between Bergen And Kirkenes From 1964 To 2020 And Has Now Been Repurposed As A Training Ship. The Location Is In The Breisundet, 71º North Of The Equator, High In Norway's Arctic North (2018).
