"Famously, those allies have now fallen out, reflecting the truism that, in Victoria, factions are like the weather. If you donβt like whatβs on offer, just wait a while."
I like this line. It reflects realpolitik in the #Labor Party - something voters tend to forget about in the fever of elections - and the variagated #Melburnian weather. I love them both. One because no party can truly be a homogeneous represetantion of the community and the other because just as seasons mark time, Melbourne gives seasons everyday.
Christopher Warren wrote a brilliant reminder of what musical chairs in the Parliamentary caucus is all about and explains why political egos are not the main game here.
The latest factional struggle in Labor goes back a long way, from before #Hawke to #Rudd and #Shorten

A human, different view of the everyday Bill, from one of our most perceptive writers, John Birmngham.
I enjoyed JB's forecast of what he wished on Morrison, but it was not to be. YET.
Also shared that rage on the night of the 2019 election.

That said, #ChatGPT doesn't seem to be doing a particularly good job with #scientific #texts, and also it doesn't seem to be able to #count the characters in its own output. So typically if you ask to #shorten the text, it first overshoots by a bit, then undershoots by a bit.
Here I'm trying it on my own old abstract as an example (from 1340 chars it first went to 1200, then to 700, while I asked for 1000)
I donβt watch #ABC #QandA anymore, but I will have a quick look at their short posts.
