Decided to take a few engine bay #photos of the #EA888 with #LumixG100D after washing my hands, so got a few bonus shots of high pressure #petrol pump and MPI (multi point #injection) extra fuel rail (there are port injectors below it which should hopefully reduce carbon buildup) - USA variants of this #engine don't get this and its been deleted from later engines (2019 onwards?) that have #GPF (gasoline/petrol particulate filter) due to WLTP requirements

Turning, #Japanese : the old #bearing was from #NSK #Japan - so it would have been a fairly decent brand (its a VW OEM supplier) but /something/ knackered it (maybe a pothole?) - and as its not VW marked it would have been already replaced once - I don't think the lads at the dealer in #London would have had much opportunity to hoon the car before it was sold even if they wanted to, they are in #Barnet / #Enfield which is full of low speed limits as well as cameras).

The magnet ring was still intact, so I used some liquid crystal sheet to show the #magnetic fields (these #magnets are what makes the #ABS sensor work)

Note to self: remove bearing from the meeting table in the office *before* leaving tonight so its not still there on Monday 😁

Yard #cat (semi #feral ) photographed a couple of days ago (I got a longer zoom lens, and even then I only got *one* good shot out of 96 in motor drive (burst) mode)

You can't even bribe these rural #cats with treats, they run away from them and are camera shy (although a lady in the building next door feeds them)

Put the tripod (which I've had since about 1995!) in the car today, in the night I've got the yard to myself (other than some cats), and set up the #Lumix so I can use my mobile phone as a cable release and even a remote viewfinder!

Cropped from larger image shot with 40-150mm zoom (as much as I can afford at the moment), most of my #photography is fairly close range stuff anyway (with a lot of indoor and macro shots)

I got some new #alloy #wheels and #tyres for the #GolfGTI - on these #Michelin Pilot Sport 5, #Bibendum also appears at various points around the circumference - where he is holding up his palm and pointing you to the pit lane to have your tyres checked, at these points there are several kinds of tread wear indicator!
